Subsequently, AIS expanded its field of work to impart skills to the youth for self employment.
Next focus was to empower women from the underprivileged class by making them financially independent. Requisite training was arranged for them so they could be gainfully employed. The genesis of this endeavour was the domestic abuse and violence suffered by the women from the underprivileged class.
Simultaneously we are also working for the basic sanitation, health and nutrition for the underprivileged women and children.
AIS is actively involved in women health and sanitation programs, holding camps, distribution of personal sanitation items like sanitary napkins and diapers.
On nutrition for underprivileged children, we are active participants to provide healthy, hygienic and nutritious hot cooked meals under the midday meal scheme of the Government.
AIS from its own accruals and donations from patrons further fortifies the midday meal by providing healthy supplements like fruit, egg, curd etc.
AIS has been ably steered under the Chairmanship of Maj General (retd.) B N Raizada from 2000till 2016and by Mr O P Bhutani (IPS) from 2016 to 2019. Both the distinguished gentlemen of age 83 and 91 continue as mentor and patron to the society.
AIS is professionally managed by the president Ms Preeti Wadhwa, entrepreneur, Secretary Ms Paramjit Ahuja, retired Principal from Kendriya Vidyalaya and honorary executive members, Ms Suniti Wadhwa and Mr Deepane Singhal who are spearheading this current plan entirely on their two able shoulders.
